Who We Are

Save the Davis Meeker Garry Oak (EIN 45-4591214) is a group of approximately 20 individuals who came together spontaneously and organically, driven to action by our determination to stop the City of Tumwater from breaking the law in its quest to cut down a tree that is at the heart of Tumwater's historical identity, that is a grave marker for a Native American burial site, and that is home to nesting kestrels.

We bring a variety of backgrounds to the cause of the Davis Meeker oak, including history, biology, media, nonprofit management, law, Native American activism, local government politics, arborist, education, medicine, tree activism, American ethnic studies, urban planning, ecology, and community activism. We are a motley crew.

If you're interested, we are happy to have more talented people join our ever-growing team.
